Promethean Nexus is the first of its kind to propose an energy and materials transition based on the Purple Transition. It is a proposal for an Innovation Hub to prove the viability of the next industrial era. The premise includes an investigation into existing neglected energy technologies as well as exotic theoretical energy sources altogether organized into a new industrial chain that relies on non-scarce materials. The premise also includes a necessary integration of reorganization of society and culture to enable and sustain this energy and materials transition. The consequence is ultimately a city system that integrates all factors as part of a systems approach to avoid and adapt to a constellation of current problems and future risks.
Promethean Nexus represents the convergence and culmination of two lines of work, the techno-optimist vision of Jacque Fresco and the energy-materials resource analysis by Simon Michaux. This project is undertaken by The Venus Project and Simon Michaux as a project of Venus Evolutions.
While the combination may seem counterintuitive to members of both the degrowth and post-scarcity communities, to the contrary, it is precisely the elements of both that pave a promising path forward.
